Allied Healthcare Professionals
Allied Health Professionals play a vital role in the delivery of high quality, patient centred clinical research across the NIHR.
AHPs represent the third largest professional workforce in health and social care, and include Art Therapists, Dietitians, Paramedics, Radiographers and Speech and language therapists.
Clinical Research Allied Health Professionals are at the core of the NIHR mission “to provide a health research system in which the NHS supports outstanding individuals working in world class facilities, conducting leading edge research focused on the needs of patients and the public.”
We want allied health professionals (AHPs) to blaze a trail in research. Our AHP Research Champions are part of an ever expanding community of role models and research activists who are promoting the work of AHPs in research and encouraging AHPs to get involved. Our AHP strategy sets out our vision.
